Iranians under the Regime Speak with One Voice: “Do Not Lift the Sanctions!”
Gunaz.tv
My television show, “The View,” is broadcast by satellite every week to Iran from Chicago. We receive live calls on air directly from our viewers in Iran. On March 30, I asked whether the sanctions should be lifted or kept in place. We had time to hear from fifty callers.
The responses astounded me. Forty-eight callers said that the Biden administration should leave the sanctions in place. From among those forty-eight, three advocated not just keeping the sanctions but increasing them. Only one person said it did not matter whether the sanctions were lifted or kept in place. And while one person did call for lifting the sanctions, he added that the personal transactions of the mullahs should still be blocked.
It’s important to note that callers are taking a risk by phoning into our show. If the regime were to identify them, it could jail, torture, or even kill them. Below is a short summary of the answers that we received, with the callers identified by their city of residence.
