Following their meeting in Capri, Italy, G7 foreign ministers declared their willingness to impose additional sanctions on Tehran in response to Iran's growing destabilizing activities.
The G7 countries' foreign ministers issued a joint statement stating this.
The statement referred to the tension between Israel and Iran and urged both parties not to escalate the tension.
The statement emphasized Israel's commitment to supporting its security and Iran's unprecedented attack on Israel. Tehran's government's recent seizure of a Portuguese-flagged ship in the Strait of Hormuz has been widely condemned.
They also expressed deep concern about human rights violations in Iran, particularly those affecting women and minorities, and condemned the treatment of Iranian protesters as a crime against humanity.
Furthermore, it was stated that Iran's transfer of ballistic missiles to Russia would result in a quick and coordinated response from the G7 countries.
"We urge Iran to end its support for Russia's military operations in Ukraine." Any attempt by Tehran to transfer ballistic missile or related technology to Russia would result in a swift and coordinated response, including new, harsh measures against Iran," said the statement.
