Mike Waltz, Donald Trump's national security adviser, stated this during an interview with CBS News.
He said that Iran is in a difficult situation right now thanks to Netanyahu and the Israelis, and that the Hamas group has been beheaded in a stunning operation: "Everyone said that eliminating Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah would be too much of an escalation, too much of a provocation, that it shouldn't be done. But Israel did it. They had always assumed that the 'cavalry' would arrive from the north alongside Hezbollah. That is no longer the case, and I believe that is the primary reason they are doing the deal now. Iran's air defenses have been destroyed. So it's time to make some important decisions, and we're going to do that over the next month."
