A protest described as provocative was held outside the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the United Kingdom, in London.
The Azerbaijani Embassy in London reported the incident.
A group of approximately 10–15 people participating in the demonstration carried Iranian flags and portraits of Ruhollah Khomeini, the first Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The protesters, most of whom were women, used loudspeakers to chant various slogans and alleged that women wearing hijabs were facing restrictions and pressure in Azerbaijan.
The demonstrators attempted to use religious slogans and political symbols to manipulate issues related to Azerbaijan’s domestic policies.
The incident can be viewed as another provocative attempt by alleged agents of Iranian intelligence services to undermine Azerbaijan’s independent foreign policy and sovereign decision-making.
