US President Donald Trump is planning to resume military strikes against Iran following the US congressional midterm elections.
MS NOW reported the development, citing three senior officials from Arab Gulf countries.
According to the report, the Trump administration has informed its allies in the Gulf region to prepare for a short but intensive round of attacks beginning as early as November 4.
Washington’s Arab Gulf allies are seeking to de-escalate tensions amid concerns over possible Iranian retaliation. A White House official declined to comment on potential military plans, stating that Trump “keeps all options on the table” to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.
According to MS NOW, the Trump administration is making a final diplomatic push while increasing the US military presence in the region. Qatari mediators were in Tehran on Friday in an effort to secure an agreement, while the United States is deploying a third aircraft carrier strike group to the Middle East.
